The Almshouses Hall

Renovated and upgraded in 2012, the former Almshouse chapel offers a centrally-situated, light and airy Hall, for hire at very reasonable rates.

Set in beautiful grounds, the Hall is appropriate for a wide variety of uses: e.g. day or evening classes, business meetings (wi-fi available), and small, intimate social gatherings.

Facilities

The carpeted Hall is equipped with a set of large tables and upholstered chairs. These can be easily arranged in different configurations, or stacked away, to suit the occasion.

 

The kitchen is suitable for both the preparation of drinks and light snacks, and for outside caterers to finish and present a prepared meal of several courses. It has two ovens, fridge/freezer, tea urn, plate warmer, and a large selection of cutlery, glasses and tableware.

 

The ground floor WC is suitable for disabled users, and the entrance doors are level with the ground allowing easy wheelchair access.


Hire Charges

£14 per hour (Charity organisations: £10 per hour)

Parking

Almshouses Hall users are requested to park in nearby Swan Meadow Car Park (access via Bridge Street/New Pond Lane), from where it is a two-minute walk via Park Lane through to the Almshouses, as parking on-site is very limited.
