Are you an HR professional, people manager or employment relations specialist looking for a meaningful way to use your skills and experience to benefit your community? 

We are seeking a trustee with HR, employment, wellbeing, or people management experience to help us create a supportive, fair and well-run organisation as we move into an important period of development.

At the Saffron Walden Almshouse Charity, people matter first: our residents, staff, volunteers, and trustees.

This role is about helping us care for the people who make the charity work. You would bring insight, empathy and practical judgement to areas such as:

• Supporting a positive, respectful culture for residents, staff, volunteers, and trustees
• Helping ensure our people policies are fair, clear and compassionate
• Offering guidance on recruitment, induction, wellbeing, and support
• Helping the Board make thoughtful decisions that consider both people and good governance

This is a voluntary role, ideal for:

• An HR professional looking to use their experience for community benefit
• A people manager, adviser, or employment relations specialist with sound judgement
• Someone with charity, care, housing, not-for-profit, or community experience

No prior trustee experience is needed; we provide a full induction, training, and ongoing support.
